Music is an art that’s meant to entertain the singer and the listener. Musicians use music to put their messages across to the outside world, mostly. These artists mostly use this medium to talk about issues that affect the social life of their immediate environments.
Double Tee recently premiered his freestyle dubbed TAMALE, which to many is another dope track which is supposed to be enjoyed by his fans but for most entertainment critic, the track is a beef track which should be taken into consideration especially by industry players and stake holders in Tamale. For these critics, they don’t just listen to the beat of the song and leave it there; they go the extra mile to consider the lyrical content of the song. For most people, the lyrics of a song are the most important part of the song, that’s where the message is embedded in.
In his new track, titled TAMALE, Double Tee asked questions that are seen by some people as disrespectful comments to the two chiefs of Tamale. Double Tee in the track asked who is the Chief of Tamale… Is it “N-Yabi Dakpema “ or “ N-yabi Gukpe Naa”. This punch line is considered by some entertainment critics as disrespectful comments to make about these two chiefs, thus demand he(Double Tee) comes out and apologize for these comments.. The critics think that, chieftaincy institution should be respected by our musicians, they can’t make fun of the institution and be allowed to walk away.
Double Tee should come out and apologize for the disrespectful statements he made in his latest track, and that it’s high time we started taking these musicians on for some of the things they say in their songs.
